Founded in 1992, we are a professional association drawing our membership from the state’s film and video production community, existing to promote the talents and skills of our membership, foster good will between our members, and provide support to students interested in careers in film and video production.

The IMPA works directly with the Iowa Film Office to provide services to our members as well as production clients.Through these cooperative efforts, the IMPA provides its members information on opportunities, events and issues affecting the production industry, helps to create the best conditions for production in Iowa, and ensure the prosperity of the industry.

The Iowa Motion Picture Association is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.  IMPA is funded, in part, by a grant from the Iowa Community Cultural Grant program administered by the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs.
